No

Would you like to rise and see,

The sun peek over the top of  that tree?

No, not now was my quick reply,

As I snuggled in bed and closed my eyes.

Could you turn off that show,

About murders and such?

And come sit with me,

For I love you so much.

No, not now, was my quick reply,

As I sank in my chair and focused my eyes.

Will you see her as I do,

Not tainted and worn, by the sins that I died for,

But new as the morn?

I can't do that, I told you,

Was my quick reply,

She's hurt me so terribly, she's told many lies.

Then shake hands with anxiety, anger and fears,

For I dwell not in those things your flesh still holds dear.

I'll wait then and pray as I've done in the past,

For the prodigal son, who came home at last.

About the Poet
I've been a Christian for over 40 years and am continually thankful for Jesus' friendship and care. I'm married and have three grown children. I also have two grandsons and three granddaughters. Praise God! My prayer is that God would use these simple poems to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
