Prayer

Pray without ceasing is what I'm told,

Yet distractions cause me to stray.

But each moment affords an opportunity,

To give thanks along life's way.

So thank you for the morning light,

The glistening leaves, the somber night,

For food to eat, for friends who care,

For circling hawks and clothes to wear.

I'll try to thank you for every thing,

And pay humble homage to my King of Kings.

About the Poet
I've been a Christian for over 40 years and am continually thankful for Jesus' friendship and care. I'm married and have three grown children. I also have two grandsons and three granddaughters. Praise God! My prayer is that God would use these simple poems to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
