Strength, courage and calm, The Word of God is my balm. A bird's song as the rhythm of my soul, Its' sweet melody filling me, making me whole. The shining sun's majesty reminds me of God, As the Great Shepherd protects with His staff and rod. It's the big and the little, the silent, the slow, Keep me in wonderment as the days come and go.
* I went through a severe trial with the loss of my beloved job, working with children as a speech specialist. In the coming days, the Lord distinctly said, "Let nothing distract you from the beauty of this day." Still healing.

About the Poet
I've been a Christian for over 40 years and am continually thankful for Jesus' friendship and care. I'm married and have three grown children. I also have two grandsons and three granddaughters. Praise God! My prayer is that God would use these simple poems to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
