A Broken Reed

A Broken Reed

A broken reed of a woman stood before the Lord,

Her inner light, a single, smoldering flame.

Jesus saw the desparateness, lying deep within,

He felt the hopelessness of anguished pain.

With hand held out, He drew her in,

With whispered voice He spoke.

Her darkness seemed to slowly ebb away.

New light and life were given her, replacing uselessness.

She's witness of His faithfulness today.

About the Poet
I've been a Christian for over 40 years and am continually thankful for Jesus' friendship and care. I'm married and have three grown children. I also have two grandsons and three granddaughters. Praise God! My prayer is that God would use these simple poems to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
