Slumbering

Slumbering

Autumn mist rises as the leaves fall softly down,

Squirrels dig and scamper, hiding stashes in the ground.

Blossoms wither, sunlight shifts, days grow shorter 'till,

All of nature falls asleep in Jehovah's winter chill.

The world's asleep and dormancy resembles seeming woe,

But it is only slumbering, content beneath the snow.

When spring awakes the world will rise,

As a child from peaceful rest.

We too will rise just as the mist,

God's throng of heaven's blessed.

About the Poet
I've been a Christian for over 40 years and am continually thankful for Jesus' friendship and care. I'm married and have three grown children. I also have two grandsons and three granddaughters. Praise God! My prayer is that God would use these simple poems to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
