In Contemplation...

In Contemplation

The day will come I know, that she
so all grown up, will not need me;
I mean...she'll then be on her own-
'a child once, who now has grown.'

That's why I must appreciate
this time, for if I hesitate,
her youthfulness will soon be gone
as quickly as the light of dawn.

I know it's happening right now;
each season takes a final bow,
but yet, with each new phase, I see
new Light from her reflect to me.

That I'm aware - He makes it so;
I guess acceptance means we grow...
but yet, there's still time to rejoice
in sweetness of a child's voice.

(After 11 years of watching my granddaughter, I've come to the realization that this time
 I am able to spend with her, is  a very special blessing, unsurpassed.)
