Christmas Concert

Christmas Concert

The children gather on the stage-
then prompted by the teacher - sing;
the audience is quiet now-
then 'Silent Night', their voices ring.

I watch some of the children smile
and search to find our 'Rayghan' there.
More songs of Christmas, I will hear;
as voices echo, I'm aware...

of special music felt within,
melodious inside of me-
the blessing of a child's love...
a gift not found beneath a tree.

(Written after our 11 year old granddaughter's Christmas concert at her school.)
