Borne by the Breeze

Borne by the Breeze

Borne by the breeze, the leaves waft by
on a chilly morn, 'neath the Autumn sky,
tumbling and twirling to the forest floor
pillowing the earth, more and more.
Oh such splendor of the woodland trees -
borne by the breeze.

All the blended shades, fetterless and free,
falling and landing so perfectly
as whispers of Autumn fill the air-
wayfaring leaves here and there...
held in my heart, such beauty to seize-
borne by the breeze...

(a rondel)
