November

The last of Autumn leaves are falling-
the coming season now is calling,
and sky is gray - most trees are bare,
as earth readies for winter wear.

Passive November now turns cold
before first snow to soon unfold-
an alabaster blanket bound
to fall on patient hallowed ground.

The busy squirrels are scampering;
up-tempo birds as always, sing-
their songs, so spirited of hope;
from them, one can learn ways to cope.

Although today, the wind is still,
there's gale force beyond the hill,
yet root-strong stand the faithful trees
the bare the Winter months with ease...

until the coming of the Spring,
when by His hand, new life takes wing-
just as for us, 'thy will be done'...
new life abounds in Christ the Son!
