Beautiful Jesus

(a Sapphic stanza poem)

Birdsong carries all through the woodland, rising
upward, bough bound Heavenly music wafting.
Notes meander - wayfarers midst the forest-
traveling onward.

Sunrise warms so easily earthen wonders,
manna reaching spirited, forest stretching-
thriving, growing near to the feet and robe of
beautiful Jesus...

(a Sapphic stanza poem is derived from Greek verse...an unrhymed quatrain.  The first 3
lines are trochaic, except for the central foot in each line, which is a dactyl.  The fourth is
a short line called an Adonic, composed of a dactyl followed by a trochee. )
