September's Song

September's Song

The fields glow in tones of gold
the corn and soybeans as foretold
have grown within their manna's flow-
in tones of gold, the fields glow.

In saffron notes, the changing trees
bare early color midst the breeze,
as through the air, confetti floats-
'neath changing trees in saffron notes.

A humming heard, the garden casts
a faded shadow - summer's passed,
yet roots lie nesting as the birds-
the garden casts a humming heard.

Uplifting wings, a flock of geese
fly into the horizon's peace
as over hills and vales, there sings
a flock of geese, uplifting wings.

September's song - I hear it now,
a melody on Winter's brow;
as praising seasons move along-
I hear it now, September's song.

Note:(A swap quatrain poem - Each stanza in the poem must be a quatrain where the first line
is reversed in the 4th line.  In addition, line 2 must rhyme with
line 1 and line 3 must rhyme with line 4, and so on, but not repeat-
the same rhyming pattern in subsequent stanzas. )
