Summer Blossoms

Summer Blossoms

All faithful summer flowers surely rise

as willed, from morning sun to evening flame;

anticipation calls to me, my name-

my eyes are sentinels.  Wind's quiet sighs

waft midst the leaves and buds already shown

where other fauna faithfully has grown

beneath the manna rain or sunny skies

near treetop leaves afloat like butterflies.

Yes, every bud shall open to the beat

of summer's drum, and oh the grand parade

of blossoms coming forth!  The faithful shine

too beauteous for human eyes to meet-

each one a bit of Heaven here, arrayed...

                   Caudate sonnet variant
