Spring Morning
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Lucia Kiersch Haase
Other Poems by Lucia Kiersch Haase

Awakening this morn, a turtle dove

coo coos and through the mist goes echoing

before it disappears while taking wing

into the vibrant redbud, high above.

A sheen of dew upon the grass- a glove

begins to sparkle, diamonds worshiping

as subtle sun reveals a treasure trove.

And how the ancient breeze just flows along

restirring natures here, outside and in

as Spring brings bold of color, peace of song

in golden daffodils as blooms begin

to praise in joy unspeakable, root strong

as we who bask in miracles, akin...

Song of Soloman...For behold the Winter
is past, the rain is over and gone. The
flowers appear on the earth, the time of
singing has come and the voice of the
turtle dove is heard in our land.
