From an Elevation

From An Elevation

(a diminishing verse poem)

As eagle wings in currents flow,
God lifts me when I'm feeling low-
so much to him I surely owe.

His words in mind like lightening flash
to calm the storms of life that lash
'till all comes down to earth and ash.

Love's melody, I surely trill
within the inner valley's rill-
yes, even when I'm down or ill.

Oh catch me Lord, when comes my time-
in balanced elevation I'm
content to know the you in me.

(A diminishing verse poem is comprised of triplet stanzas in which the first letter of the last
word in each stanza is diminished by one letter, to form a different word in each line.)
