Rebirth

Midst the new born dawn, there's a new found Light
seething into roots of each garden flower
with the soil's depth of a sparrow's flight

and the spirit's toil of the timely fight-
of the pressing onward, hour after hour;
midst the new born dawn, there's a new found Light.

In the call to order and what is right-
in the bud to bloom from a higher power
with the soil's depth of a sparrow's flight,

there's the sky on the horizon, bright,
and the rain- the gain, shower after shower;
midst the new born dawn, there's a new found Light.

There's the faithful stance before Heaven's sight
and the striving of each, ne're to cower
with the soil's depth of a sparrow's flight.

All the hallowed days and each starlit night,
there's a beckoning Divine to a greater height
with the soil's depth of a sparrow's flight
midst the new born day; there's a new found Light.

(This is a Villanelle inspired by Dylan Thomas's Villanelle  'Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.')
