Spread the Word to Each and All

The Fall leaves are beginning to turn
Thoughts of the season are starting to churn
Now is the time to pull the rake out
Getting ready to get the cells moving about
The brain must again change gears
No whining, complaing, or crocodile tears

Get those pens ready, the paper set right
Warning everyone around to just sit tight
The Circus is coming I've heard it said
The signs this year are all white, blue, and red
Patriotic's the theme for the Circus theme
Pick your position get the paper out by the ream

What ever you do, whatever the act
Be waving the flag at the top of the stack
Hurry now get to your job
The indoor "tent" opening needs no knob
March on in with clowning around
Or being an acrobat high off the ground

I, the ringmaster, just cracked the whip
Get to the paper, just let it all rip
This Circus will be the best one found
In country or city or any given town

Let the music begin whatever you do
Do it with hilarity, tricks not a few
Do it with vivaciousness and verve
Let them see your fantabulous nerve
It's the poetry challenge of the Fall
