When October Turns Color

It is time to stop and reflect

What is it that we most neglect

What time have we to waste

Where have we been in such haste

As days grow cooler, and we get older

As October turns color

When words of mind and pen must fade

When warmth and comfort are like greying jade

October's colors are dried leaves on molded ground

And we now listen more intently for angelic sound

We listen for angelic sound

When October Turns Color (c)2007 Quentin Clingerman
