Lent Meditation

Turn, turn oh Soul, and behold
The Lamb of God who takes away your sin

The Lamb of God led as it were to the slaughter
Sacrifice beyond comprehension, Calvary's throne

A crown of thorns graced his brow
Blood and sweat flowed mingled down

No septer, but nails flesh pierced
Torn hands and feet fastened to his throne

A mob jeered him on, daring him to save himself
But he must die a sinner's death

To bear my sins away
He bore them all away

Lent Meditation (c)2006) Quentin Clingerman
