Looking around at the splendor of Spring
There is a reminder of a brand new thing

Looking around at the tawdriness of life
Where there is so much suffering and strife

From my heart wells a song
To this world I do not belong

God has put there instead
A hope incomprehensible to my head

But my heart knows it's real
Hearing the heavenly bells as they peal

There is a place beyond
Of which I am increasingly fond

A place where the mind is released
When this life has finally ceased

A place where there is no more toil
The enemy of time is no longer a foil

Where physical, emotional, or mental pain
No longer is needed to make any kind of gain

A place of freedom from all worldly ambition
Knowing in Him there is glorious expectation

The song of love is the song of that place
The song of truth only does it grace

A place of no darkness for He is the Light
No sleep needed there for He keeps us bright

A place beyond earthly description
A place without earthly attrition
