Jesus Is Always with Me

JESUS IS ALWAYS WITH ME

Jesus is always with me
Whether in joy or pain
I can sense His awesome presence
I shall never be the same

How could I live without Him
That question seldom arises
As I enjoy His fellowship
He fills me with surprises

I've experienced Romans 8:28
And give to God the glory
He's much more aware than Paul Harvey
He knows the rest of the story

The unsaved watch in amazement
As Jesus works in me
They scratch their heads in wonderment
And ask, “How can this be?”

They see the hand of God
Working in my life
Not only in me personally
But also in my wife

How can people be so happy
Who have so very little
I tell you friend it comes down to this
We believe every jot and tittle

Children of the Heavenly Father
True children of the King
We pray and trust that One who keeps
We praise and trust and sing

Our hope that is in the hereafter
WE claim it in the now
We're walking and leaping and praising God
No furrows on our brow

We trust that Great Deliverer
The One who has truly come
Revealing Himself unto mankind
As Father, as Spirit, as Son

Two agreed in union
Concerning things of Christ
Make for such merriment
It's really very nice

To know our God is working
To see it everyday
Life is never boring
When you learn to live this way

His love surrounds completely
Enclosing us within
Sheltered in those loving arms
We can't escape from Him

I must shout Hallelujah!
And again I say Amen!
He's directing and producing my life
For the film He's showing to men

Forget the Oscars and the Emmis
Seek not the praise of men
But seek to please King Jesus
Who's coming back again!

He's made a declaration
And sealed it with His blood
Whosoever believeth on me
Is a child of God

This is just a little ranting
And if any raving be done
It will be in this my brother
I've trusted in God's Son

I now have full awareness
That Jesus lives in me
It makes each day an adventure
For this captive who's been set free!

So fetch me dear my bible
Let's have a word of prayer
Thank you for so great Salvation Lord
That we can together share

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
