What A Breath Of Fresh Air

What A Breath Of Fresh Air

What a breath of fresh air
That Salvation brought to men
The Holy Spirit as a permanent Indweller
When we become born again
New life in Jesus Christ
Now walking in the light
With the lightness of a soul's forgiveness
Hallelujah what a delight!

He took it all...He bore my sin
His love was magnified
He made me see and understand
The reason that He died
I saw sin as the rascal it was
And the number it did on me
And had a revalation of the father of lies
That slithering serpent that he be

God's Word made it oh so plain
When I accepted it as from God
It brought inspiration to my heart
And the more I understood
Truth piled up as a mountain
Line upon line and precept upon precept
Until I was led by faith to repent
And the Lord Jesus Christ accept

My knees had never moved so fast
As I felt them hit the floor
And I confessed unto my God
That truly Christ was the Door
The way...the truth...and the life
The bread...the water...the vine...
He was my Salvation!
I just simply had to make Him mine!

It became clear as all get out
There was nothing that I had to do
He did all the work on the Cross
What a thought when that came into view
My confession was straight from the heart
God bearing me Witness to that
I wasn't playing games with God
I knew the sin in my heart

His Presence came in power
As the Holy Spirit moved within
I knew one hundred percent beyond a shadow of a doubt
That I became born again
It's real I tell ya it's real
There's life in the Crucified One
Bring all of your sin
Confess that you're a sinner to Him
And put your faith in Jesus...God's only begotten Son!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
