Hard To Describe

Hard to describe the blessedness
That comes from knowing Christ
Joy intermingled with peacefulness
Our continual lot in life
Sure there are seasons of circumstances
That each soul must pass through
But praise God by the Spirit of Christ
Our spirit's are continually renewed

There's a passion that fills the heart
To see the lost get saved
And come to know this blessed Saviour
Before they face the grave
To know a touch of Heaven's presence
Of the Christ who lives within
And a taste of the wonderment
Of forgiveness for their sin

A genuine cleansing of the soul
Through Christ's redeeming blood
Now to live a life of servitude
A life well pleasing to God
And prayer becoming as common as
The breath we breathe each day
And when each trial comes along
We instinctively begin to pray

And prayers of praise and thanksgiving
Become too.... commonplace
And daily is our awakening desire
To seek the Master's face
O hallelujah for such a Salvation
For victory through the Cross
For my blessed risen Saviour
O what a cost... O what a cost!

So friend I pray today you'll find
Such a yearning in your soul
To seek the Lord while He may be found
So you can be made whole
Don't be deceived by the things of the world
The lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh
As well as the pride of of life
But that you will  come to know the Lord
And  enjoy true deliverance from strife

There's a song that's waiting for you to be sung
It's a song of a soul set free
Nothing can ever ever hold back
Such music of liberty
Angels rejoice upon  your salvation
So let your rejoicing begin
Repent and believe on this wonderful Saviour
And watch as your praising begins!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
