What A Blessed Bond Of Fellowship

What A Blessed Bond Of Fellowship

What a blessed bond of fellowship
When you are in God's family
Knowing full well of the cost of our faith
The precious blood of Calvary
Where when as ordinary people we came
As sinners with full documentation
Of our great need of the Lord Jesus Christ
And of our need of His so great Salvation!

We're not ashamed to be labeled as such
Sinners in need of God's amazing grace
And are willing to give forth an honest testimony
As to our receiving of the Master's touch!
Humbleness in full transformation
For what great things that the Lord has done
And with the continual affirmations of our praise
Hallelujah for that life saving One!

Praise God for those kindred spirits
Who as well have one purpose in mind
To see other people come to know the Lord
And to know the same blessings in kind
What a purposeful mission of unity
To be bonded by God's amazing grace
And now going forth and spreading the gospel
With a new passion for soul's in place!

We've identified as new born believers
Saved by the blood of the Lamb
And empowered afresh by the Holy Spirit of God
Most willing that news to proclaim
For what has washed our sins away
And has brought us sure cleansing relief
Has been praise God the Lord's own testimony
Which has brought us to saving belief!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
