Lord Thank You For The Inspiration

Lord thank You for the inspiration
That You gave for Christmas songs
That comes to our attention once again
So that we might sing along.
They have a special flavor
As they remind us of Christ's birth
Immanuel...God with us
The most joyous occasion on earth

Where gift giving is synonymous
To celebrate that day
As love one's attempt  to make it home
That’s just the Christmas way
God You made that gathering
As a top priority
That we might celebrate the birth of Christ
And the Man of Calvary

Love sung forth in sweet refrains
To give glorious affirmation
That Jesus Christ the Son of God
Died to procure our wondrous Salvation
Our memories adjust as to when
When we enjoyed that day
But mostly thought so little of Christ
As so it is today...

Satan tries to rob the glory
That is due to Christ
So brings forth a declaration of fact
To those who are naughty or nice
And as he does at Easter
He attempts to sugarcoat
And give a celebration thereof
And the thoughts of Christ are remote

But praise God there's a Saviour
Who took our lot of sinl
And paid in full our ransom   price
For His death was required of Him
And hallelujah praise the Lord
God raised Him from the dead
As a testimony of satisfaction
For His Sacrificial  Lamb...

Now there is an open door
Of faith to enter in
Believe on Christ and you'll be saved
Praise God you'll be born again!
So may your joy this Christmas day
Be the honoring of the Son
And enjoy that celebration with God
The most High and Holy One!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
