Get A Heavy Dose

Get a heavy dose of the Bible
And you're sure to find our God
He's on the pages of history
Where He's best to be understood
His mandate was to love us
And to love us He fulfilled
Love in all of its totality
Proclaimed there on Calvary's hill
Love in all of its totality
Proclaimed there on Calvary's hill

Love that spread its wings as an eagle
Hovering over earth's domain
Love that graciously forgives each sinner
Who calls on Lord Jesus's name
Love who comes in the form of a Spirit
To witness God's reality
The love of God found in Jesus Christ
The Author and Initiator of eternity
The love of God found in Jesus Christ
The Author and Initiator of eternity

O how I love that Saviour
Who took all of my circumstance
And drew me unto Himself praise God
When His Word I began to understand
The preaching of the Cross to them that perish
God says that to them it is foolishness
But unto us who believe it is glory hallelujah
The power of God unto Salvation no less
But unto us who believe it is glory hallelujah
The power of God unto Salvation no less

I love that my Redeemer
That He went all out for me
I was missing from the ninety and nine
Far off from the fold and astray
But with love that was full of compassion
One day burst forth with grace
Helped me to understand by His Word
The importance of Him taking my place
Helped me to understand by His Word
The importance of Him taking my place

There's a blessing in the Bible
A possession of great worth
Where praise God our Lord Jesus Christ Himself
Talked to a ruler about the new birth
Check it out for yourself my friend
In the New Testament book of John
Read it as a letter from God
Wrapped in pages of crimson
Read it as a letter from God
Wrapped in pages of crimson

I pray that your heart might be stirred
To see if these things be so
And pray that God might  help you understand
To the saving of your soul
For He is witness to your daily walk
What path is it that you are on
One forever questioning the things of life
Or one with a glory
hallelujah  song
One forever questioning the things of life
Or one with a glory hallelujah song

His Word shall stand forever
So on it I take my stand
I've believed all its pages my friend
From the beginning unto the end
He's the Author and the Finisher
His Word will never diminish
God is our Word...who is Jesus Christ
Who uttered one day it is finished!
God is our Word. .who is
Jesus Christ
Who uttered one day it is finished!

I live in sure Resurrection power
For it is Christ who gives new life
Who rose again after three days dead
Hallelujah what a victorious life
The world's greatest opportunity
Believe on the
Lotd Jesus Christ today
Know Him now as your Reality
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ today
Know Him as your Reality

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
