What Joy!...You Arose!

What joy You arose Lord!...Hallelujah!
The greatest of days on this earth
As the world awakened to
a new dawning
The Saviour had kept His Word
Now there could be a new tommorow
This glorious day proved that
For here before us was our Resurrection
Our Resurrection and our Life!

Our Resurrection and our Life!...Hallelujah!
Now what a story that we had to tell
Praise God Jesus Christ has arisen!
And can deliver from death and from Hell!
What a complete Salvation!
To be saved by the Crucified One!
For if the grave could not hold Him!...praise God!
Nor shall it hold...ANY!!! believing one!

Nor shall it hold...ANY!!! believing one...Hallelujah!
For because He arose we too are alive!
Christ in us our hope of Glory!
Hallelujah!...praise God!...high fives!!!
Thank you...Holy Spirit
For making my spirit know
That when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and  Saviour
I sensed Heaven here below!

I sensed Heaven here below...Hallelujah!
I knew I was completely changed!
For the old furniture of sin that held me fast
The Saviour had rearranged!
A complete transformation...Hallelujah
I knew instantly that I was different inside
A new-found peace and joy had taken up residence
Gone any feelings of pride!

Gone any feelings of pride...Hallelujah!
I was smitten by His holiness
When I saw my sin for the blackness that it was
And I saw in Him God's Righteousness
He became my Salvation...Hallelujah!
I was saved by grace through faith!
For whomsoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved!
Who said it?!!!...thus the Lord saith!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
