We've Tasted And Seen

We've Tasted And Seen

We've tasted and seen that the Lord is good
He is our new appetite
Now we hunger and thirst after righteousness
For Christ is our chief delight
And what a delight He has been hallelujah
For His offering of such a grace
For when we were justly deserving God's wrath
The Saviour Himself took our place...

The Saviour Himself took our place hallelujah
His work on earth was done
Once as the sacrificial Lamb of God
Now as the glorified crucified Son
For up from the grave He arose hallelujah
Death had lost its power over men
Now offered to us is God's paradise
When we become born again...

When we become born again hallelujah
We become new creatures in Christ
His redemptive blood has paved the way
Because of His blest sacrifice
The Holy Spirit will lead us along
With a desire now to do God's will
As well as a fresh love for the Word of God
Another blessing from Calvary's Hill

Another blessing from Calvary's hill hallelujah!
Let the redeemed of the Lord give Him praise
For we have the God of the impossible
As our Friend for the rest of our days
For His is the kingdom and the power and the glory
As our all compassionate God
Praise God hallelujah for that day we believed
For we've tasted and seen He is good!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
