It Just Makes Sense To Me

It Just Makes Sense To Me

It just makes sense to me
That if there is such a place called Heaven
Then I'd make every effort to check it out
Particularly while I'm still living
God has given us all the faculties for life
A heart...a mind...and a soul
To aid our search in finding out about
Whether there's a lover of my soul

I know that His Word is still current
For they preach it all of the time
You would think that it would grow stale
But no!...They preach it over again time after time
It must take a lot to sink in
I know that it took that for me
I was three months investigating it for myself
Before its truths really dawned upon me

Come on now!. What's more important than your soul?
And as to where you are taking it to
Have you a reference point for consideration
Or haven't you yet thought it on through
Remember it is God who puts you to sleep
And awakens you in the morning
But also consider that tragedy might come
And give you no sign of warning

Today!...while it is yet called today
Today... will your mind to consent
To the very thought that there is a God
And that your greatest need is to repent
There's a wonderful peace when you've made peace with God
And have had a Spiritual reconciliation
Coming to acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ
And accepting His so great Salvation!

May the Holy Spirit draw you now here
To that well of endless supply
Where Lord Jesus's shed blood was poured out for you
So you could live in the sweet bye and bye
Come now let us reason together says God
For He's really a most reasonable Chap
Pull up a chair and pour out your heart
It's about time that you both had a chat!

Hallelujah what a Saviour !

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
