Conviction Usually Comes In Increme

Conviction Usually Comes In Increments

Conviction usually comes in increments
When you begin to read God's Word
As the Holy Spirit enlightens us
To absorb all that we have heard
And as faith comes by hearing
And hearing by the Word of God
The compilation of truth in regards to our sin
Will lead us closer to the mind of the Lord

God communicates in conscience
He knows the thoughts and the intents of the heart
He knows exactly what you are thinking about
Even before your thinking starts
Talk about up close and personal
God has His eyes on you
That's why sin is so corruptible to God
For it cannot escape His view

Imagine the love that holds back punishment
Even when punishment is due
For God is not willing that any should perish
But that they might come to Salvation too
Praise God He sent Lord Jesus to save us
To die on an old rugged Cross
To shed His blood for the sins of the world
And to suffer instead of us...

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
Who can give us a relationship with God
And bless us with grace through His forgiveness
Praise God for His precious Word
For God's Word abides forever!
Praise God! Hallelujah! Amen!
And it is foolproof in its wondrous testimomy
For by believing in it one can become born again...

There is an entrance to your  heart
The Lord Jesus is at the door
He's waiting for an invitation from you
He has come knocking for you before
Today if you will hear His voice
I pray that you won't harden your heart
But in an act of contriteness and repentance
I pray that you will give faith its start!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
