Conviction Confession Cleansing

Conviction... Confession... Cleansing

The Spirit of God brings conviction
As to our sinful ways
The Word of God attests to that
When we read what God's Word says
God says all unbelief is sin
That's an all encompassing fact
Remember He's our Creator
We're just a result of an act

He formed us from the dust of the earth
And made us into a man
Filled us with life giving blood
And a mind to understand
So full accountability
Is due to such a Maker
Who holds us responsible
For our actions
While we're upon His earth here

Yet made a way praise God He did
To deal with sins demands
To release us from its holding power
Even to the death of men
And in Jesus Christ loves Benefactor
Sin got what it deserved
Banished forever from His heavenly Kingdom
Praise God thus says the Lord

The wonderment of it all
That we are so intricately made
That every fibre of our being
Before our God is laid
For He alone knows us through and through
And desires for us to praise Him
And the greatest thorn to this accomplishment
The enemy called sin!

So thorns it took for that completion
That crown upon Christ's head
Those lashes from cursing scoffers
Nails in His hands, His feet... Pierced side
He paid sin's fullest penalty
He paid it with His life
And death achieved a temporal victory
Through Jesus sacrifice

But hallelujah praise the Lord
Amen for that Cross
For three days later Christ arose
Such Victory He gained for us
Now death no longer could effect
It only had a hiss
And was made to withdraw from its power
How I thank my God for this

Satan sentenced for eternal damnation
Into that Lake of fire
But we remain with the Water of life
Him Our Chiefest Desire
Never a cleansing such as this
When we're convicted and confess
We receive His cleansing power
Resurrection power no less

So get your life ready for God
Prepare your heart for Him
To Him your life is an open book
So own up to your sin
Not a place that you can hide
Remember!.... He's the Creator
Praise God He cleanses our soul upon confessing
Come and seek thy Maker!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
