Thank God...God Said

Thank God...God said "let there be light"
And light...thank God it became
Now the world had a revelation of God's power
And it was never the same again
All creation groans and travails
Awaiting that coming day
When the Lord Jesus comes back as the King of kings
What a glorious hallelujah day!

Amen for when God speaks
His Word has true living power
You can depend on it one hundred percent
And it's still up to date this very hour
And a soul saving transaction...hallelujah!
Is always ready at hand
For when by faith you take the living God at His Word
Praise God your heart will understand...

Thank You Lord for Your saving grace
Giving pardon and forgiveness for sin
And implanting by Your Holy Spirit
The faith that helps our believing
Sealing it by the Holy Spirit as well
We know that we've been redeemed
And our hallelujah's begin their rehearsal
From the which they shall never refrain!

Hallelujah what a Saviour
The Word become flesh for us
And what a wonderful joy unto the world
For the God in Whom we can trust
For He speaks and immediately things happen
Remember!!??...He said " let there be light"
He holds all the power in both Heaven and on earth
Why not make Him yours tonight

Come and know the Creator as your Saviour
Who from Heaven to earth came down
Crown Him as the Lord of your life
Who once wore for you a thorn filled crown
And who gave His life at Calvary
Taking upon Him God's wrath for our sin
But hallelujah He became the Light of the world
On the day of His Resurrection!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
