I Love Fellowshipping

I Love Fellowshipping

I love fellowshipping with other believers
And remembering some good old days
When the good Lord worked in wondrous power
That led to some moments of praise
When He orchestrated the whole scenario
And His timing was done to
perfection
First came the message of the gospel of grace
Then hallelujah of the glorious Resurrection

I can still recall all of the stories
That led to the praises of bliss
Of some born again Christian not involved in a church
And of the fdllowship that they did miss
And how God could bring together
Two souls that were previously unknown
And bring the one who was saved
To share his testimony
And it was used marvellously
To save the other one...

One fella sat in on a chapel service I was attending
At the occasion of my request
It occured at a bible school
just before break time
Many years ago out west
I had asked him if he wished to come
He said... don't you have to go to bible school
No I said... anyone can attend
Maybe the Lord will make a preacher out of you...

He kind of laughed it off at the time
But remained faithful in chapel attendance
And after a couple of months of this
In the Lord he placed his complete dependance
And guess what became as the end result
He went back east to a bible school
He graduated and became a full-fledged pastor
And has been preaching for
over forty years still...

And a fellow that the Lord brought into his life
After an evening of conversation
Went downstairs to his room in the basement
Confessed his sin and trusted in the Lord for Salvation
Boy how time does fly
I've known both of these fellas for over forty nine years
And both hallelujah are still going strong for the Lord
Now that's definetly a  hallelujah to cheer!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
