Indentured Servant

Indentured Servant

Soft as a feather
Which many choose to ignore
The blows from God's hammer
Working on the soul's shed door
To release the en-captured
Sin's trampled sprout longing to flee
The pounding hammer trying to free

The soul's shed once empty and bare
Soft as a feather soon becomes aware
As Jesus' love takes root in there
Now eagerly stands the indentured
Purchased with royal blood
Ready and willing to venture
Through the soul's shed door

Soft as a feather
The indentured servant is made
Humbled by blows for God's trade
The soul's shed door swings open
Into eternity's shade
Soft as a feather
The servant stands bade
