Serenity's Drumbeat
By: Laurie Ragan Jenkins

Pride's drumbeat echoes loud
In the distance the hearing strains to catch
The tinkling sound of Christ's waterfall
Pride has fallen many times before
For failing to hear God's humble call
Serenity's drumbeat whispers through clouds
Over the waterfall falls the proud
Peace truly surrounds all who are humble
Hearing the tinkling waterfall's rumble
None are great for God loves us all
Jesus' blood cascades from His Cross
While the humble stand beneath His waterfall
A murmur lightly kisses the soul inside
Extinguishes the drumbeat of pride
Serenity's drumbeat whispers through clouds
Humble souls will proudly bow
