Kneeling Beside My Christmas Tree

Kneeling Beside My Christmas Tree

Tonight, I will kneel beside our Christmas Tree,
Not as a religious altar or philosophical shrine;
Yet, as an eternal symbol of hope for you and me,
Empowered by its soul-stirring, decorative shine!

As the shepherds knelt at the manger,
So I choose to kneel beside the Christmas Tree;
Thankful that God and I are no longer strangers,
Because of His Son's birth on that first Christmas Eve!

As the Wise men traveled that distance so far,
Seeking for a babe born for them, for you and for me;
Tonight, my soul will seek out its own Christmas star,
As I choose to kneel down beside our Christmas Tree!
