Jessica's Lament

I am very glad to be back home,
Thank you for all your support and prayers;
Please continue to support all our troops,
That continue to fight the war, far away over there.

Don't forget Lori, Dan and the known and unknown,
For they all are very special heroes too;
Some live, while others die, but all courageously fight,
For the freedom found in the old red, white and blue.

Amazing grace, how powerful the sound,
That saved a young soldier like me;
Why me and not others, I do not know,
But I will continue to serve my country, and honor Thee.

Note by the author:
This poem is written in honor of Jessica, Lori and Dan and
the others who have died, and those who continue to fight the war against terror around the world.
