Don't Play It Again
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Other Poems by George David Denson

Don't play it again,
Please don't replay this year for me.
Though, Your grace was always sufficient,
Many souls, including my own --
Never felt completely happy and free.

It can be written of 2002,
That of which a writer wrote long ago;
These are the best of times,
And the worst of times,
Thus, did the year 2002 precariously unfold.

Many blessings, Yes!
Also, hard trials too!
Took much of the sparkle off
Of a year that had so much promise
To be one ever so happy, prosperous and new.

Lord, please don't play this year again,
Be gracious and make this year one that is truly new.
Give us all much growth, blessing and prosperity,
And much needed rest from adversity,
And our souls will humbly say,
Thank You, Thank You!
