Fort Knox's 24 K Gold
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 2 times

Other Poems by George David Denson

As I write these poetic words,
I live in the land of the brave and the free;
Most people around the world,
Do not have the freedom of Americans,
like you and like me.

Watching the faces of those in Iraq
Who by our soldiers are being set free;
Makes my heart leap for freedom
As high as the height of the torch
On America's "Statue of Liberty."

A gift from God's own redemptive hand,
America will soon be 227 years old;
With flags waving, anthems playing
and tears running down your cheeks --
Treasure your God-gift, precious freedom,
Which is far more valuable
Than all of Fort Knox's 24K gold!
