Poetic Revelations

Poetic Revelations

As I sit at my computer,
This amazing word producing machine --
Revelations of daily life quickly come to me.
Capturing them in meaningful words of poetry,
Is quite a burden and challenge
As we all know and daily read.

Life can be so tragic, and often so blessed,
All in the same day or moment of time.
The poet seeks through words
Such revelations to caress --
Creating images and visions,
As bright lights forever to shine.

As with the New Testament book of Revelation,
Our writings often are filled
With unsolved mysteries.
For ourselves, our rhyming words
Become gifts of personal affirmation,
Presenting to all life's greater choice
Not to doubt, but to wholeheartedly believe.
