Blowing Winds & Falling Leaves

Blowing Winds & Falling Leaves

Cold blowing winds and falling leaves,
Remind us that Fall is fast fading
And Winter is near; Bringing each of us
To the rapid closing of another year.

Ending a year of our life is like
Finishing the reading of a long chapter in a book;
Thankful you have finally arrived,
But wondering if you might need to take a second look.

What could you have done better?
Where did you go wrong?
Our actions serve much like a leveler
Weighing the worth of our year long song.

Did your song have a country flavor,
Or maybe a little too much rock and roll;
Was it lived as a wonderful symphony of His favor --
As blessed as two lovers taking an evening stroll.

Fall is in labor,
Winter will follow the blowing winds and falling leaves;
Another year of our life will be left for us to savor,
While we contemplate on life's horizon,
The new year which is yet to be!
