You Got Mail Multi-millionaire baseball players talking strike,
Steve Spurrier coaching the Washington Redskins.
My computer speaks -- You Got Mail
My cell phone says -- Hello and Good-bye
Sometimes life is too many steps ahead
Of my heart, my body and my mind.

Leave It To Beaver and Andy Griffith are on TV Land,
Reality TV is the cable and networks main nightly plan.
My computer speaks -- You Got Mail
My cell phone says -- Hello and Good-bye
Sometimes life is too many steps ahead
Of my heart, my body and my mind.

Corporate CEO'S building multi-million dollar homes,
Robbing their employees of their retirement cottages
down by the lake.
My computer speaks -- You Got Mail
My cell phone says -- Hello and Good-bye
Sometimes life is too many steps ahead
Of my heart, my body and my mind.

Our war against terror seems to be a success,
Now our President wants to attack Iraq.
My computer speaks -- You Got Mail
My cell phone says -- Hello and Good-bye
Sometimes life is too many steps ahead
Of my heart, my body and my mind.

My computer speaks -- You Got Mail
My cell phone says -- Hello and Good-bye
Sometimes life is too many steps ahead
Of my heart, my body and my mind.

My Bible is still a joy and pleasure to read,
I think of its truth even as I type on these keys.
My computer speaks -- You Got Mail
My cell phone says -- Hello and Good-bye
Thank God, the Holy Spirit still leads,
When life is far too many steps ahead
Of my heart, my body and my mind.
