Thirty Days In April
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 2 times

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

Thirty days has April,
a gift of our calendar
to you and me;
What to do with this short month,
is quite a challenge for all,
I am sure you will agree.

We have Spring fever to fight,
taxes to ponder -- the joy
and blessing of Easter to await;
We must fervently pray for our troops,
as they engage in freedom's battles
in Iraq and Kuwait.

April 1st is "fools day"
but April need not be
thirty days of foolish ways;
Because in our terror-scarred world,
we must make every sincere effort
to powerfully redeem --
all thirty days!

Thirty days has April,
a gift of our calendar
to you and me;
What to do with such a short month,
I am not sure, but probably,
I will be spending much time
each of these thirty days --
on my knees.
