Butterfly Wings

I feel like a butterfly whose wings are still wet
and wrinkled and crinkled,
not unfolded yet.
So ugly in transit, no beauty to see...
emerging so slowly to a world that is free,
to fly and to soar, finally...
me.
Through stages I've struggled,
one by one...
drying my wings
in the light of the Son.
