Little Bird

   Little Bird

Cradled in the bosom of a tree,
a little bird sat looking down at me.

As if, to say, "What is your hurry?"
"Do not be afraid, or even worry.

This little bird, one of God's own,
made me stop, to soulfully atone.

Though the wind raged all around,
He chirpped content, high above the ground.

His little song was full of glee, and...
I felt God's presence within me.

"Be still and know that He is God."
          (Psalm 46:10)

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
