I Repent

Other Poems by Evelyn Heinz

I repent.

Lord, let Your everlasting love and mercy

Pour over me, a sinner.

I open the door to my heart

And let You come in.

I repent and am sorry for all

My offences that hurt You,

Others and myself as well.

Lord, thank You for

Your forgiveness,

Your love and your mercy.

I remain Your grateful

Servant for as

Long as I shall live.

"Look! I have been standing at the door and I am

constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling him

and opens the door I will come in and fellowship with

him and he with me." (Revelations3:20)

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
