Like New Again

like New Again

My heart gallops across
a thousand regions
in my mind.
Yet, it seems
I travel through
in slow motion
at times.
Trying ever
to be compassionate
and forgiving
I am met
with frozen feelings
of those
I dearly love
who reject me.

My lesson
is learned
beneath the cross
of one who suffered
and died for our sins.
I forgive those who
reject me.
My spirit is healed
when I submit
in surrender to self.
Turning to Him
I become strong
and like new again!

"Humble yourself under the mighty hand
of God cast all your cares upon God
for He careth for you. God said, "I will
never refuse anyone who comes to
me."(Peter 5:6&7)

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
