Beneath the Cross

Beneath the Cross
,br />

Beneath the cross I sat and cried,
I thought of how Christ had died.
I sat and talked, there was much to tell.
He looked down and whispered, "All is well."
My worries and anxieties seemed to fade away.
For He promised me, He would lead the way.
For in my life, I must surrender to self,, it's true.
If I am to complete my spiritual journey with You.
It isn't always easy letting go of worldly things.
I humble myself before You and my heart sings.
Each day is filled with trials, some big, some small.
But with Your help Lord, I'll learn to overcome them all.
You give me courage, you give me strength and grace.
One day soon, I shall find myself with You, face to face.

"He knows the way I take: when he has tried me
I shall come forth as gold."(Job 23:10)

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
