Thank You Lord

Thank You Lord

I woke early this morning

with memories of the past

dancing before my eyes.

My carefree childhood,

exploring life for

the first time.

Teen years

with questions and answers

to where I was going.

My wedding day,

the happiest day of my life.

Holding each of my

seven children

for the first time

when they were born.

Happy memories of being

a busy wife and mother, but...

praying for some time alone

to rest.

Also some somber memories

of the death of loved ones.

My father, mother , oldest sister,

favorite aunt and most of all

my husband.

I realize I wasn't alone

in my life,  Lord,

You were there beside me

to bring me through.

You have always been

there for me and You still

are. Thank You, Lord.

I couldn't do it without You!

"In this world you will have trouble.

But take heart! I have overcome the world."

(John 16:33)

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
