A Widow"s Reflections

A Widow's Reflections

It is the simple things I miss...

the touch of your hand, your smile

your hugs, your presence,

holding a glance when we sat

in silence in the same room.

Sometimes I dream of you,

and my love remains in

my memories and thoughts.

I see you in the eyes of our

children and grandchildren

when I hold their hands,

when they smile or give me hugs,

or holding a glance

when we sit in silence in the same room

like we used to do.

Yes, love remains...

your love, their love

God's love, and my love...

entwined together forever,

for Eternity.

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
