Always on the Go

      Always on the Go

Seems I was always on the go.
No time to slow down or sit down
to pray.

My prayers were said in route...
to make a bed, feed a family. or
wash the clothes, or shop for groceries.

It took time and labor to raise a family
of seven and a hard working husband
needed time and care, too.

In my prayers I asked the Lord,
"Could you give me time to sit and rest
and pray?" His answer was a simple,
"Yes, my daughter, just be paitient and wait."

Soon the children were grown and on their own
and my husband was in the arms of the Lord.
And...I heard God say, "Now...

Come unto me you that labored and were
heavy laden and I will give you rest." As I sat
in the stillness of my room, I said, "Thank You!"

"Come unto me all that labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)KJV

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
